Originally from Malaysia – Subang Jaya, Ryan migrated to Australia in 2009 without a job. He started out in a casual role at Michel’s Patisserie before moving into a permanent position as an earthmoving spare parts adviser at Caterpillar.
Prior to his mortgage broking business, Ryan spent over 10 years as a mechanical engineer in the earth-moving machinery industry, giving him a strong foundation in customer service and practical problem-solving.
Beyond his work in finance, Ryan is a passionate community builder. Since 2014, he has served as one of the admins of MIBM (Malaysians in Business Melbourne) — a thriving network for professionals and entrepreneurs. He leads two key signature events:
- Power Lunch Networking – a monthly gathering now in its 50th edition
- Gather & Unwind Dinner – a casual evening for connection and community, currently in its 7th edition
These events have connected over 1,000 members through face-to-face networking over the years.
